WHAI CONROY
Body of Christ
The church had a huge mouth
and one Sunday morning when
we came and stood out front
it gobbled us up
I walked down through the
throat till everyone stopped and we
sat quietly down in its chest
where we could breathe better
then we sang beautiful hymns
as music did come from its heart
which vibrated around us
all the way down to its stomach
when the man stood up the front
he pulsed, he yelled, he stung
but we gave him all of our eyes
and ears
then the children were sent away
with their little things and bits
as their shoes tappy-tapped
they went skipping down
its arms and legs
