Mercedes Webb-Pullman

 

Mercedes Webb-Pullman obtained her Diploma in Creative Writing from Whitireia in 2009, and graduated from the International Institute of Modern Letters at Victoria University with an MA in Creative Writing in 2011 (the year she turned 60). Her poems and prose have appeared in publications such as Turbine, 4th Floor, Swamp and Reconfigurations. Her latest book, The Jean Genie, explores the work of Jean Genet in a series of contemporary sonnets. During hard times she is reassured by Rumi’s words: ‘I lost everything I had, and found myself.’
