There were people
everywhere
the band inside
the record store
wore hats
that cut the air
so sharp
I stood
by the rubbish
to smoke
and
I’ll look in her eyes
like a thief
it was a case of
feeling invisible
then
then of course
who cares
anyway
as the musicians
lost and found each other
over and over
again
and people shook hands
with each other
and the parking wardens
looked for another
commission
and the sun hid
behind the buildings.
